Refurbishments
Since CCL started trading in 1997, a core part of its business has been designing the waterproofing for refurbishment developments, in line with BS 8102. CCL can offer a bespoke design for the Structural Waterproofing Strategy, tailored to the project’s requirements.

CCL has had the privilege to work on countless high-profile projects throughout the United Kingdom and Europe; working on buildings and structures such as The Royal Opera House, Centre Parcs and Twickenham Stadium to name a few refurbishment projects.
Planning and Design
An integral part of CCL’s business has been working on planning and designing of refurbishment developments alongside Architects, Principal Contractors and Design & Build Sub-Contractors; providing them with their desired goals without compromising on the quality at any point. Given the inevitable unknown nature of refurbishment developments, CCL would be happy to undertake site surveys to better understand the project requirements, at any part of the design process.
Approved
As CCL is an approved applicator for all the major waterproofing manufacturers, it can offer a design and/or installation for every project scenario.
Within refurbishment scenarios, the external elevations of the structure are typically inaccessible, meaning the waterproofing strategy can only be achieved internally.
In such scenarios, CCL could put forward a Type C form of waterproofing in BS8102, being a Water Management System.
This system works by allowing the ingress of Ground Water into the structure but manages its path to a predesigned Pumping Station or a suitable discharge point.
In line with BS8102, a Type C form of waterproofing would be able to achieve a Grade 3 environment, meaning no water ingress is acceptable.
Specialist Works
As an alternative to a Water Management System, a Specialist Cementitious coating can be applied internally, which can withstand Hydrostatic Pressure from external ground water. Hydrostatic Pressure is the force of external ground water bearing against the structure. CCL would design the Waterproofing Strategy based on the individual project requirements and project restraints.

Grosvenor House
